Bandy Bandy
(Vermicella Annulata)

MILDLY VENOMOUS

Identification: Head is totally distinct from neck, bold colour of black and white rings.

 

Habitat: A burrowing species found under rocks and logs in a variety of habitats.

 

Diet: Blind snakes and small lizards.

​

Reproduction: Up to 6 eggs laid in a clutch.

 

Danger: Weakly venomous, but not regarded as dangerous to humans. 

 

Behaviour: Flattens body into loops when threatened. This species often comes into contact with humans following a heavy rain event where it will return to the surface.
