First Aid for Snakes

In the case of an emergency it's important to be aware of how to safely and securely use a pressure immobilisation bandage to save yourself or someone else after being bitten by a snake in Australia. We sell medical grade bandages to our clients to promote our message of safety.

If you are bitten by a snake these are the current recommended steps:

1. Ensure the casualty is resting or relaxing and stays calm.

2. Mark the bite with a marker or pen and do not wash it.

3. Firmly apply a pressure bandage to the affected site working down the limb and back up to the site and further above the limb.
4. Call '000' and ensure the patient remains calm and still until emergency services instruct you.
